Last year, Samsung announced that it had set itself the ambitious goal of becoming the world’s leading print brand by 2012.
Competition in the print market is fierce, but when a company like Samsung makes such a bold statement it must be taken seriously. After all, Samsung has a legacy of rapidly growing its businesses to become a leader in its chosen industries, and the company has invested heavily.
A multi-million pound marketing campaign and an improved European partner portal helped Samsung to rapidly increase its market share in 2009. According to GfK data for October 2009, Samsung is now the number one brand in the European A4 laser colour and mono multifunction printer segments, and the number two brand in the overall market for print products.
Samsung has been working closely with Midwich, a key distribution partner, to develop strong relationships with dealers and help them achieve profitable growth during what was a very challenging year. Throughout 2009, Samsung launched a host of new colour and mono printers to expand its product range, and will continue to invest in innovative new products and solutions in 2010.
