Comment by John Silver, Managing Director, Cathedral Products (UK) Ltd
    Published:  19 January, 2010

With two major exhibitions, Paperworld and SOPX taking place early in the New Year, John Silver, MD of Cathedral Products outlines the reasons why the company will again be exhibiting at both events.

After 25 years in the industry I am still as enthusiastic regarding exhibitions as I was in the days of STATINDEX and TOPS and find it very sad from a suppliers point of view to witness the apparent low level of interest and enthusiasm shown by some of our colleagues in the trade towards these events.

  • Strengthening the frontline: Developing your sales team in an economic recession
Comment by Jane Rowe, Marketing & Merchandising Director, Spicers UK
    Published:  04 November, 2009

In today's tough economy, dealers quite rightly want to know exactly where each penny is going, how it is being spent and how it will benefit their business, before they commit to spending. Dealers must also be able to demonstrate to their own customers the value they add to their business and demonstrate how the products their customers purchase will improve their business processes, image or cost efficiencies. This will ultimately be down to those who have the most day to day contact with the customer: your sales or customer service teams. So proper training is essential to maintain and maximise sales opportunities.
